Pamela Hassett, MBA,
CPCC, CMNC
Pamela Hassett began her journey as co-founder of EmUrgentCare, PLLC, a progressive urgent care medical facility treating a wide variety of illnesses and injuries for patients of all ages since 2003. In 2013 the Hassetts sold the 2-location practice to a large regional hospital. Following the sale, as hospital division directors, the Hassetts continued to lead and expand the urgent care practice. As of 2018, there were 11 facilities serving a hundred-mile geographic radius with 150 employees, $20 million budget and delivering care for 140,000 +/- patient visits each year. Pamela’s strategic leadership, collaborative and influential team approach as well as her operational and financial expertise, helped drive continuous growth, patient satisfaction and excellence at the urgent care practice. Recognized as an expert in the field of urgent care management, Pam has been a lecturer and educator on a variety of topics at national industry conventions.
In late 2018, Pamela left the hospital group with the goal of expanding another company the Hassett’s have owned since 2004 — a management consulting firm called PSH Management Consulting Services, LLC. Through this company, Pamela offers executive and whole-life coaching, using a Co-Active Coaching model. In addition, the firm offers business consulting, strategic planning, executive team retreats and seminars to a variety of businesses, that wish to lead their companies to the next level. Finally, Pam is also co-founder of PSH Development, LLC - a real estate holding company also established in 2004.
Pam received both her business degrees from the University of Southern Maine. Prior to creating EmUrgentCare, she worked in the investment and financial services industry in Maine and New York, and founded P. T. Hassett Advisors, LLC in 2000. Pamela’s involvement with a local rescue squad as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) ignited her passion for emergency medicine, which readied her for the moment her husband, Stephen, suggested the concept of EmUrgentCare, bringing a much needed urgent care medical facility to her community.
Dedicated to supporting her community as well as other worthy causes, Pam has provided business coaching pro-bono for several years, is active with her church, and several other activities connected to her children’s pursuits. She is a current member of the international Women Presidents’ Organization and has served on the Advisory Board of the publicly traded Bank of Greene County for 5 years. Historically, she has been active with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast NY, serving on its Board of Directors from 2000 to 2009 and as Board President from 2007 to 2009. Pamela was also actively involved with the Coxsackie-Athens Rotary, a significant contributor to the Greene County YMCA, and was a founding Board Member of the Coxsackie-Athens Foundation for Education. Pamela was honored in 2007 as the Business Woman of the Year by the Greene County Chamber of Commerce. EmUrgentCare has also been honored with multiple awards, including the 2005 Coxsackie Area Chamber of Commerce award for Business of the Year.
Pamela is married to Dr. Stephen G. Hassett, also her business partner. The couple has four children — one pre-teen and three teenagers — and lives in Coxsackie, NY.
Dr. Stephen Hassett has a life-long dedication to patient care and the well-being of his community, particularly in the area of pre-hospital care, urgent care, and emergency medicine. He is currently employed as the Division Chief of Urgent Care and Community Outreach at Albany Medical Center, the only Level I Trauma Center in upstate New York.
An experienced Emergency Medicine specialist, Stephen, was the co-founder with his wife, Pamela, of EmUrgentCare, PLLC, a progressive urgent care medical facility treating a wide variety of illnesses and injuries for patients of all ages since 2003. In 2013 the Hassetts sold the 2-location practice to a large regional hospital. Following the sale, as hospital division directors, the Hassetts continued to lead and expand the urgent care practice. As of 2018, there were 11 facilities serving a hundred-mile geographic radius with over 150 employees, $20 million budget and delivering care for 140,000 +/- patient visits each year. Stephen’s savvy business expertise and uncanny foresight for business trends and timing proved tremendously beneficial for the company. The foundation of the company’s success has been the pristine commitment to quality medical care, satisfied employees and patients, and an efficiency unmatched in traditional healthcare.
Dr. Hassett is also a co-owner of two additional companies, PSH Management Consulting Services, LLC and PSH Development, a real estate ownership company — both established in 2004. He is a nationally recognized speaker on urgent care issues such as insurer negotiations and developing political influence.
Dr. Hassett has built an impressive career dedicated to the realm of Emergency Medicine that began as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) then advanced to Paramedic and later a physician. Dr. Hassett was the youngest Paramedic Instructor in the State of Maine early on in his pursuit of improving medical care. Stephen's current interaction with his own staff as well as medical residents and students at Albany Medical Center and pre-hospital emergency personnel in the greater Albany, New York area, has continually inspired Dr. Hassett to set the benchmark for quality care in the Capital Region.
Stephen received his BA in Biology, Summa Cum Laude from the University of Southern Maine, his MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine and served his Residency at Albany Medical Center. His certifications include Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician, Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Medical Review Officer (MRO), Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Instructor, Department of Transportation (DOT) Collection Instructor, PALS Provider, ACLS Instructor, ATLS, and CPR Instructor. Dr. Hassett is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). In 2013, Dr. Hassett received the Greene County EMS Council Award for his services as a Medical Director for the Coxsackie EMS. EmUrgentCare was honored by the local Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year in 2005.
Stephen is married to Pamela T. Hassett, also his business partner. The couple has four children — one pre-teen and three teenagers — and lives in Coxsackie, NY.
